MATTERS FROM STAFF
SITE VISIT TO FAMILIARIZE THE CITY COUNCIL WITH THE PROPOSED LANDSLIDE
REMEDIATION PROJECT AT 1 POPPY TRAIL.
All participants met at 3 Poppy Trail Road. The members of the City Council, along with members of
the Planning Commission and Rolling Hills Community Association Board of Directors were provided
an overview of the proposed landslide remediation project at 1 Poppy Trial. They viewed the proposed
project from 3 Poppy Trail, looking up at the project. The applicant's representatives provided
information relative to the proposed project including details concerning the slope design, remediation
of the landslide and how landscaping will be used to mitigate the impact of the retaining walls along the
roadway. Bob Jonas, resident, 3 Poppy Trail requested that sufficient landscaping be placed along the
proposed roadway so that the headlights from the cars travelling along the roadway do not shine into his
home. The City Council then visited the existing property at 1 Poppy Trail. The applicant's
representatives further reviewed the proposed project and explained where the property line between the
two proposed lots will be. Mr. Jonas expressed concern that the future homes on the proposed building
pads would look directly onto his property and suggested that they be sufficiently screened, so as to
afford privacy to the homes below. The City Council did not deliberate and no action was taken.
MATTERS FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY
No closed session was held.
ADJOURNMENT
Hearing no further business before the City Council, the meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m. to the next
regular meeting of the City Council scheduled to be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 beginning at 7:30
p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, California.
