A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIIE CITY
OF ROLLING HILLS, REQUESTING THE INITIATION
OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE REMOVAL OF A PORTION OF
CREST ROAD FROM THE COUNPYtS MASTER PLAN OF
HIGMAYS.
WHEREAS, that portion of Crest Road lying
within the limits of the City of Rolling Hills is and
for many years has been a private road, closed to the
general public; and
WHEREAS, development within the City of
Rolling Hills will remain sparse because of deed and

zoning restrictionArelating to .the size -of individual
properties; and
WHEREAS, there are no existing public
streets within the limits of the City of Rolling Hills;
and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the 'City Coun-
cil of the City of Rolling Hills that all streets, roads
and ways within the City shall remain private in charac-
ter and shall remain closed to the general public; and
WHEREAS, the overwhelming majority of the
residents of the City of Rolling Hills wish reassurance
that the security afforded by their private roads and
system of gates and guards shall be continued and main-
taiited; and
WHEREAS, existing and contemplated public
streets and highways outside the limits of the City of
Rolling Hills will provide adequately for the present
and .future traffic requirements of the Palos Verdes
peninsula;
NOVI, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the
Board of Supervisors of the County of.Los Angeles be and
it is hereby requested to transmit this resolution to the
Regional Planning Commission of the County of Los Angeles,

with a request that a public hearing be held, to determine why
Crest Road from its intersection with Palos Verdes Drive East
to its intersection with Crenshaw Boulevard should not be re-
moved from the County Master Plan of Highways; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, that certified copies of this resolution
be forwarded to the Clerk of the Board of'Supervisors and to
the Honorable Burton W. Chace;
THAT the Mayor shall sign this resolution and the
City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and
adoption thereof.
