0084RESOLUTION NO. 84 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS DIRECTING APPOINTMENT OF A COMMUNITY CENTER COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the Rolling Hills Garden and Community Club has advised this Council that it intends to donate the net proceeds of its 1959 Friendship Fiesta to the City of Rolling Hills for the purpose of establishing a fund for the acquisition, development, construction and maintenance of a community center; and WHEREAS, this Council does not know the desires, if any, of the residents and taxpayers of the City of Rolling Hills with respect to the need of advisability of a community center not does it know the desires of such residents and taxpayers with respect to the facilities to be afforded in such a community center if such a center is desired; and WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of knowing the desires of the residents and taxpayers of the City of Rolling Hills with respect to these matters at the earliest possible time; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council, shall forth- with appoint a commission of not less.than ten (10) nor more than fifteen (15) persons to investigate the desires of the residents and taxpayers of the City of Rolling Hills with respect to the establishment and operation of a commun- ity center, and in that connection, answer these questions: (1) Do the residents and taxpayers of the City of Rolling Hills desire that the City acquire land for and construct and thereafter maintain and operate a community building? (2) If such a community building is desired, where should it be located? (3) If such a.community building is desired, what facilities should it contain? (4) If such a community building is desired" what should be the outside cost of land acquisition, construction and landscaping? and 1 (5) If such a community center is desired, should it be financed by bonded indebtedness? and to report 'track to this Council with its findings and deter- minations not later than September 28, 1959; and further BE IT RESOLVED that said commission, in performing its duties hereunder, be and it is hereby authorized to make use of the stenographic services of the City of Rolling Hills and, at City expense, to make not more than one mailing to all resi- dents and property owners of the City of Rolling Hills.
