0095RESOLUTION NO. 95 A RESOLUTION'OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS REgUESTING THE REMOVAL OF A PORTION OF CREST ROAD FROM THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY MASTER PLAN FOR HIGHWAYS. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Regional Planning Commission of Los Angeles County is hereby requested to recommend to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County that Crest Road from its intersec- tion with Palos Verdes Drive East to its intersection with Crenshaw Boulevard be forthwith removed from the Los Angeles County Master Plan of Highways; and, be it further RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be forward- ed to the Regional Planning Commission of Los Angeles County, to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and to the Honorable Burton W. Chace; THAT the Mayor shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption thereof. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 28th day of March, 1960. ATTEST: -- May6r of the C of Rolling Hil s 0ty Clerk APPROVED AS TO FORM: City -Attorney- - WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills on May 11, 1959, by unanimous vote, adopted a resolution requesting the Board of Supervisors�to request the Regional Planning Commission of Los Angeles County, California, to hold a publicj,.hearing to deter- mine why Crest Road from its intersection with Palos Verdes Drive East to its intersection with Crenshaw Boulevard should not be removed from the County Master Plan of Highways; and WHEREAS,.the said Regional Planning Commission of Los, Angeles County will, on March 29, 1960, hold such a hearing; and WHEREAS, Crest Road, insofar as it lies within the !s: boundaries of the City of.Rolling Hills, is, and always has been, a private road maintained with private funds �F contributed by the residents of the City of Rolling Hills; and WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City of Rolling Hills and of its residents that said road shall remain a private street for the foreseeable future; and WHEREAS, the maintenance of Crest Road as a private street with gatehouses is an essential part of the policy of the City of Rolling Hills relating to the protection of-11fepand property within said City; and WHEREAS, existing and contemplated public streets and highways outside of the City of Rolling Hills do now and will hereafter provide adequately for the present and future traffic requirements of the Palos Verdes Peninsula; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Regional Planning Commission of Los Angeles County is hereby requested to recommend to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County that Crest Road from its intersec- tion with Palos Verdes Drive East to its intersection with Crenshaw Boulevard be forthwith removed from the Los Angeles County Master Plan of Highways; and, be it further RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be forward- ed to the Regional Planning Commission of Los Angeles County, to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and to the Honorable Burton W.
