A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY.COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ROLLING-,.-kILLS, CALIFORNIA
COMMENDING RICHARD M. NIXON
WHEREAS, RICHARD M. NIXON has been Vice -President
of the United States of America for the past eight years; and
WHEREAS, the affairs of this high office has been
conducted by him during the time with honor, loyalty and
dignity which has.;brought,world-wide distinctionand credit
not only. -to the,, Un.i_tedStates of America but to all the men
and women who served faithfully under him; and
WHEREAS., RICHARD M. NIXON has ., ;at all times ..:during
his public life given unselfishly ;of -his time,, effort; and
devotion far above and beyond, the, usual and :customary duties
of his office to protect the rights, freedom.. -and liberty of
the people of the United States of America from aggression
and tyranny and to, promote and protect 'all the ,.peoples of
the world from the evils.of,war and pestilence; and
WHEREAS, he has at all times been an active and
valued participant.in governmental and civic affairs of. the
State of California which has brought national acclaim and
world-wide recognition to himself and to the'State of
California,;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Rolling Hills does express to Richard M. Nixon
its sincere thanks and appreciation for his long and faithful
service and continuing efforts for and on behalf of the people
of the United States of America and the State of California,
and wish for him all happiness, good fortune which he so
justly merits by reason of his loyalty, honesty and integrity
in the conduct of the office of Vice -President of the United
States of America for the past eight years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread
upon.the Minutes of this meeting and that the same be read at
the Testimonial dinner given in honor of Richard M. Nixon on
March 11, 1961.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of February,
1961.
