A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROLLING HILLS OPPOSING AMENDMENT OF
LOS ANGELES COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1494
TO PROVID& FOR LIGHT MANUFACTURING IN THE
S.R.D. ZONE OF THE PALOS'VERDES'PENINSULA
WHEREAS, a proposed amendment to Ordinance No. 1494
of the County of Los Angeles providing for Ilight manufacturing
in the area now zoned S.R.D. in'the'.Palos Verdes Peninsula,'
has been presented to this Council for consideration; and
WHEREAS, this Council is of the opinion that said
proposed amendment would, in spite of the.protective clauses
set forth therein, provide for and allow said area to become
a light manufacturing zone; and.
WHEREAS, Palos Verdes Peninsula has always been
considered to be one of the prime residential areas in
Southern California; and
WHEREAS, the residents of the City of Rolling Hills
have invested large sums of money for the building and
construction of superior residential properties and improve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, this Council is of the opinion that said
proposed amendment to Section 270 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1494
of Los Angeles County might, within the foreseeable future,
depreciate the value of said residential properties and be
detrimental'to the welfare of the residents of the City of
Rolling Hills.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council,
of the City of Rolling Hills is opposed to the amendment of
the zoning ordinance of Los Angeles County as presented to
this meeting to provide for light manufacturing in the area _
located in the Palos Verdes Peninsula designated as the
S.R.D. zone; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of
this resolution be forwarded to the Regional Planning Commission
of the County of Los Angeles.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of
November, 1961.
