A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROLLING HILLS REQUESTING THE
REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES TO REMOVE THE EASTERN
EXTREMITY OF CREST ROAD FROM THE MASTER
PLAN OF HIGHWAYS
WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Commission of the
County of Los Angeles has heretofore caused to be removed
from the Master Plan of Highways of the County of Los
Angeles as a major highway that portion of Crest Road
which runs through the City of Rolling Hills in a generally
easterly and westerly direction; and
WHEREAS, the existing easterly end of Crest Road,
which now extends from Crenshaw Boulevard easterly to.the
westerly boundary of the City of Rolling Hills still appears
on said master plan of highways for the County of Los
Angeles as a major highway; and
WHEREAS,. said existing easterly portion of Crest
Road terminates and ends at the westerly boundary of the
City of Rolling Hills and serves no useful purpose as a
major highway as all straws are private in the City of
Rolling Hills and not open to use by the general public;
and
WHEREAS, said existing easterly portion of Crest
Road now passes through a residential area and that the
normal traffic flow in this area is exceedingly light and
the major traffic pattern is from the West along Crest
Road into Crenshaw Boulevard and does not penetrate into
that portion of Crest Road -that dead -ends at the westerly
boundary of the City of Rolling Hills.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council of the City of Rolling Hills does request the
Regional Planning Commission of the County of Los Angeles
to remove -the easterly portion of Crest Road which extends
from Crenshaw to the westerly boundary of the City of
Rolling Hills from the Master Plan of Highways of the
County of Los Angeles as a major highway for the reason
that said highway serves no°useful purpose as such to the
residents of'the County of Los Angeles; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of
this resolution be forwarded by the City Council of the City
of Rolling Hills to the Regional Planning Commission of the
County of Los Angeles.
