A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY -OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA, APPOINT-
ING A DEPUTY CITY CLERK AND SECRETARY OF
THE PLANNING COMMISSION; -AND FIXING THE
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT AND COMPENSATION
THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the Petition for incorporation of the City
of Rolling Hills, California, provides for the appointment of
all officers of the City other than .Councilmen„ by ;the..City
Council; and
WHEREAS, HERETOFORE -the City Council has appointed
Mary Louise Powers as Deputy City Clerk and Secretary of the
Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Mary Louise Powers has resigned the afore-
mentioned offices; and
WHEREAS, it appears desirable that the City Council
now appoint a Deputy City Clerk and Secretary of the Planning
Commission to replace Mary Louise Powers;
NOW, THEREFORE,. BE;IT RESOLVED that Charlyne H. Couch
be, and she is hereby appointed by the -City Council of the City
of Rolling Hills to the office of Deputy City Clerk and Secret-
ary 6f the Planning Commission;.'and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that upon her qualification
and acceptance of said offices, she shall hold.each of -said
offices at the pleasure of the City Council, which offices
she is hereby authorized to fulfill in addition to her employ-
ment as secretary to Phyllis Stockdale, Business Manager of
- the Rolling Hills Community Association of Rancho Palos. Verdes;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that effective July 22, 1963
and continuing thereafter at the pleasure of the City Council
the monthly compensation of Charlyne H. Couch as Deputy City
Clerk and Secretary of the Planning Commission be and the
same is hereby fixed at $400.00 per month, $350.00 of said
sum shall be charged against the budget item for Deputy City
Clerk, and $50.00 of which shall be charged against the budget
item for Planning Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign
this resolution and the City Clerk shall attest and certify to
the passage and adoption thereof.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of

of Rolling Hills, do hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution being Resolution No. 164 was passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills,
California, -signed by the Mayor of said City and attested
by the City Clerk, all at a regular meeting thereof held
on the twenty-second day of July, 1963, and that the same
was passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Goodman, O'Flaherty, Van Note,
Tourtelot and Mayor Amberg
