A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROLLING HILLS AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION
OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY PALOS VERDES
UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Palos.Verdes Unified School District is
presently the owner of a certain parcel of real property
located-:on-the'south side of -Crest Road adjacent to the- ;
westerly boundary of the City of Rolling Hills and commonly -
known as "College Valley"; and
WHEREAS, the Palos Verdes Unified School District is
in the process -of constructing on said land a.warehouse`and
in the near future plans to construct thereon an.elempntary—
school and an administration building; and
WHEREAS, said School District is presently using a
portion of said real property as a..Maintenance Depot and
Storage Lot for its school busses; and
WHEREAS, there is available to said School District
in the City of San Pedro a facility which would adequately
-provide maintenance.and storage for said school busses; and
WHEREAS, if the said School District elects to move
the Maintenance Depot and Storage Lot to the facilities in
the City of San Pedro, there will remain unused approxi-
mately -two acres of land located easterly of said warehouse
in College Valley:
NOW, THEREFORE,.BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor of the
City of Rolling Hills is authorized and empowered to enter
into immediate negotiations with the Board of Education of
Palos Verdes Unified School District for the purchase and
acquisition of approximately two acres of said land located
at -the easterly end of College Valley and east of the ware-
house building at a price of approximately $50,000;
BE IT FURTHER.RESOLVED that a.copy of this Resolution.
be forwarded forthwith to the -President of the Board of
Education of Palos Verdes Unified School District and that
the Mayor take all.necessary steps to carry out the intent
and.purpose of this Resolution.
