A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF ROLLING
HILLS TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE
COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE, WASTE,
REFUSE, 1JUBBISH AND OTHER REFUSE MATTER
WHEREAS, the collection and disposal of garbage, waste,
refuse, rubbish, offal, trimmings.and other refuse in the past
has been made from the.residences of the City of Rolling Hills
by an.independent contractor; and
WHEREAS, said contractor has

WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City of Rolling Hills
make some arrangement for the temporary collection and disposal
of garbage, waste, refuse, rubbish and other matter until such
time as a formal franchise or contract can be entered into be—
tween the City of Rolling Hills and a reliable and responsible
contractor for the disposal and collection of garbage, waste,
refuse, rubbish and other matter; and

'= WHEREAS, Section 4250 of the Health and Safety Code of
the State of California authorizes the City Council of the City
of Rolling Hills to enter into contracts for the disposal and
collection of garbage, waste, refuse, rubbish and other matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Clerk
and Councilman Tourtelot of the City of Rolling Hills are author-
ized and empowered to execute for and on behalf of the City of
Rolling Hills, a. temporary contract with the B. K. K. Co. for
the collection and disposal of garbage, waste, refuse, rubbish,
offal, trimmings and other refuse matter within the boundaries
of the City of Rolling Hills, commencing on November 13, 1963,
and terminating on or before December 31, 1963, at a cost of not
to exceed Four ($4) Dollars per month for each household from
which garbage, waste, refuse, rubbish, offal, trimmings and other
refuse matter is collected and the City agrees to guarantee the
payment of said sum during the period of the temporary contract
in a sum not to exceed $3000.

1963.
