A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS
DESIGNATING GUARDS EMPLOYED BY THE ROLLING
HILLS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES,AS "SECURITY OFFICERS"
WHEREAS, the' City' of Rolling Hills, on November 12, 1957- -
passed, approved and'adopted-Ordinance No. 15 entitled "An Ordin-
ance of the City of Rolling Hills Providing for the Maintenance
and Operation of a System of Gates and Gate Houses" which Ordin-
ance, among other things, provided that the City of Rolling Hills
would provide directly or indirectly for the employment of the
necessary personnel to operate the system of gates and gate houses
located at all entrances to the City of Rolling Hills; and
WHEREAS, since the adoption of said Ordinance No. 15 the
City of Rolling Hills has contracted -with the Rolling Hills Community
Association of Rancho Palos Verdes for the operation of said gates and
gate houses and that the said Rolling Hills Community Association of
Rancho Palos Verdes has provided the necessary personnel to so operate
said gates and gate houses; and
WHEREAS, the designation of the employees operating said
gates for the Rolling Hills Community Association of Rancho Palos
Verdes as "security officers" will substantially add to the promotion
and preservation of the peace, public health, safety and welfare of the
residents of ,the City of Rolling Hills;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that all employees of the
Rolling Hills Community Association of Rancho Palos Verdes operating
said gates shall be designated as "security officers" and that two
of'said employees shall be designated as "Lieutenant" and "Sergeant"
-.of -said security officers by the Mayor of the City of Rolling Hills,
with the approval of the Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City.Clerk is authorized
and empowered to take the necessary steps to put the purposes of this
-Resolution into effect.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of January, 1964.
