DECEMBER 10, 1962
The regular -meeting of the City Council of the City of
Rolling Hills was called to order at 7:30 P -.M., on Monday,
December 10., 1962 in -the City Hall by Mayor O'Flaherty.

.APPROVAL OF MINUTES
On.motion of.Councilman Goodman, seconded by Councilman Tourtelot
And unanimously carried, the minutes,of the meeting held
November 26, 1962 were approved as written.
CORRESPONDENCE
The City Clerk read the following:
a) Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors giving notice of
public hearing to be held.December 13, 1962 re Zoning Case
No.4345-(4) pertaining to Zone change from C-4 to S -R -D -
to R-1 9000, R-3, C-2 and -C-4 affecting property located
on north side of Crest Road extending 3300 feet west from
Crenshaw Blvd., to the future Crestridge Road.
Thereafter it was moved by Councilman Tourtelot, seconded
by Councilman Goodman and unanimously carried that a letter
` 45,e-lwritlen to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors
expressing the opposition of the City of Rolling Hills to
the recommeftaation of the Los Angeles County Regional
Planning Corn�hission in Zoning.Case No 4345-(4) insofar
as it would rezone a portion of the property -involved at
R-1-9000 and instead recommends that that.portion be
rezoned RA -20,000.
b) Letter from Department of Public Health. declaring certain
Los Angeles counties to -be -rabies areas and requesting
report of City conformity with State law relating to dog
licensing. The City -,Manager was directed to file the
report.
c) Letter from -Fairview -Therapeutic Pool Volunteers
requesting permission .to conduct a fund raising
appeal for Fairview State Hospital. The letter was
ordered received and filed.
PROPOSED WEED ABATEMENT ORDINANCE
The matter was ordered tabled until the January 14, 1963
meeting.
REPORT OF CITY DEPARTMENTS
Capt. -Max Krukow, Lennox Sheriff Station Commander, gave
a brief report on burglariesin the area.
Thereafter, it was moved by Councilman Tourtelot, seconded
by Councilman Goodman. and unanimously carried that a letter be
written to Sheriff Pitchess expressing the appreciation of the
City of Rolling Hills for the time and.effor.t given by Capt.
Krukow and Lt. Hamilton in. their Police work during 1962 and
that copies of the letter"be sent to Capt. Krukow and Lt.
Hamilton.
The City Clerk submitted the following reports: a) Traffic
Accident Summary Report for the month of October; b) Financial .
Summary,Repor.t for the month of November, 1962 and c) City
Treasurer's Report for the month of November, 1962.
The above reports.were approved and ordered received
and filed.
PAYMENT,OF CITY BILLS
The City Clerk presented the register of bills to be allowed.
for payment. It was moved by -Councilman Amberg that Demands 1252
through -1254; Demands 1256 through 1260 and Demand 1262 be approved
for payment from the General.Fund; Demand 1255 from the Motor Vehicle
In Lieu Fund and Demand 1261 frof the Special Deposits Fund.. The
motion was seconded by Councilman Van Note and carried by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilman Goodman,°Amberg, Tourtelot, Van Note and
Mayor O'Flaherty .

The City Manager stated.that she had not received a report from
Mr. Koltnow, Traffic Engineer, So Calif Auto Club on survey to
be made at Eastfield gate.
ADJOURNMENT..
.There being no further business to come before the meeting,
it was moved by Councilman Goodman, seconded by Councilman Amberg_
and unanimously carried that the meeting be adjourned at
9:00 P.M.
