0209_156 - RESOLUTION NO. 209 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF IHiE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS AUHORIZI.�SG THE MAYOR AND CITY CIERK TO ENTER INTO A CON�IrRACT WITH THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE CONS°TRHCTION OF AN ADMINISTRATION BUILDING IN LPA CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills has heretofore employed Corwin H. Eberting, Jr., an architect duly licensed by the State of California, to draw plans and specifications for the construction of an administration building and parking area in the City of Rolling Hills, which specifications included as -a part thereof an ":invitation to Submit a Proposal and Instructions to Bidders" which drawings and specifications were available for ek'amina' tion and study by contractors desiring to bid on said administration building and city hall in the City of Rolling Hills; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk, on September 20, 1966, posted a. notice entitled "Notice inviting 'aids for the Construction of an Administration Building in the City of Rolling Hills, California," in three public places in said City designated by a duly enacted ordinanceof the City Council of the City of Rollin; Hills as the places for posting public notices, which notices invited contractors 4.n to submit bids for the construction of said administration building on or before four p.m. October ltd, 1966, and which stated that all bids so received would be opened at 7:30 p.m. on October 10, 1966, .fi. and W11.EREAS9. on October 10, 1966, the following contractors did submit bids for the con5trucGion of said administration building in accordance with said plans and specifications, as follows: 1. Brusco Construction Company, for a stipulated lump sum of $71,484; 2.. A. j. fieri - Contractor, for a stipulated lump sum of $81,245; 3. Lorentz H. Voien _ Contractor, for a stipulated lump sum of $74,942'; 4. H. L. Johnson. Construction Company, for a stipulated lump sum of $73,300; $68,367; and 5. George L. Doerfler, for a stipulated lump sum of WHEREAS, the City Council, having received said bids, did refer all of said bids to its Administration. Building Committee; and said Committee, having examined all of said bids to ascertain if they complied with all of the tt.erms and plans and specifications, ,and said Administration Building Qommittee having found George L. Doerfler was the lowest responsible bidder for a stipulated lump sum of $68,367; and WHEREAS, said Administration Building Committee has recommended to the City Council that said bid so made by the said George L. Doerfler be accepted and a contract entered into by the City -of Rolling Hills with said contractor for the c6hstruction.of said administration building; NOW, WHEREFORE, BE IT RESOL'aD as follows: 1. '.'hat zhe City Council of the City of Rolling Hills finds and declares that the stipulated lump sum bid of $68,367 sub- mitted by George L. Doerfler is the lowest: responsible bid; 2. That the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Rolling Hills be authorized And empowered for and.on behalf of the City of Rolling 'Hills to execute that certain document entitled "Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Contractor" dated October 20, 1966, a copy of which has been heretofore submitted to the Council, by the terms of which contractor agrees to construct for the City of Rolling Hills an administration building for the lump sum of $68,367.
