0247WK RESOLUTION N0, 247 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING MILLS REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO DELAY TAKING ANYAC.T.I.ON IN REGARD TO INCREASING THE RATE TO BE PAID BY GENERAL LAW CITIES TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES FOR POLICE PROTECTION WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the Grand Jury of the County of Los Angeles that there be an increase in the hourly rate charged by the Sheriff of Los Angeles County to general law cities for police protection., and `"'i WHEREAS, such recommendation is presently being studied by the Economy and'Efficiency Committee of the County of U U Los Angeles, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills is of the opinion that the hourly rate which it now pays to Los Angeles County for police protection is fair and equitable, based on a formula developed during the past sixteen years, and that any increase in said rate would be unfair, inequitable and a burden on, the taxpayers of the City of Rolling Hills, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills does request the Board of Supervisors to take no action, directly or indirectly, to increase the per unit cost to be charged by the Sheriff of Los Angeles County to the City of Rolling Hills for police protection in excess of $139,000 annually, and that all action be delayed until the report of the Economy and Efficiency Committee of the County of Los Angeles has been presented to the Board of Supervisors.
