RESOLUTION NO. 269
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS REQUESTING -THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY DIVISION, LEAGUE OF
CALIFORNIA CITIES TO SET ASIDE ACTION.TAKEN ON
NOVEMBER 5, 1970, APPROVING REPORT OF THE URBAN
PROBLEMS COMMITTEE ENTITLED "CHANGING ROLES FOR
CITIES", AND TO PLACE THE MATTER ON A FUTURE
AGENDA FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION.
WHEREAS, action was taken at the November 5, 1970 meeting
of the Los Angeles County Division of the League of California Cities
on a major policy committee report entitled "Changing Roles for Cities.
despite the printed agenda indication only of "discussion,".and
WHEREAS, this report in its full text.had been delivered
to member cities in mid-October at the time of the State League Con-
vention, and an insufficient amount of time was given for adequate
distribution and study of its content, and
WHEREAS, only 28 of the member cities of the Los Angeles
County Division were in attendance, and
WHEREAS, this report was ultimately approved at said
meeting by only.18 (23.4 percent) of the member cities of the Los
Angeles County Division of the League,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City of Rolling Hills, a
member of the Los Angeles County Division of the League of California
Cities, requests the Executive Committee of said Division to take the
following action:
1. Suspend any further action with regard to the
report of the Urban Problems Committee acted
on by the Board of Directors at the November 5,,
1970 meeting, and
2. That said committee report be again placed on the
agenda for the January meeting of the Board of
Directors of the Los Angeles County -Division
under the designation: ACTION ON URBAN PROBLEMS
COMMITTEE REPORT.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution -be
forwarded to the Los Angeles County Division, League of California
Cities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 14th day of December, 1970.
