RESOLUTION NO. 273 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA ENDORSING FORMATION OF AN ADDITIONAL CITY ON THE PALOS VERDES PENINSULA WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills has by prior resolution (No. 242 dated 14 November 1969) expressed its basic policy and its objectives regarding the need for local control of future.development of the Palos Verdes,Peninsula, and WHEREAS all three existing cities on the Palos Verdes Peninsula have joined with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Advisory -Council in seeking as much as possible to protect and preserve the rural character of the area, to safeguard its natural beauty and scenic views, and to maintain t`- a low population density with lowest practical school costs and minimum V traffic congestion, and V WHEREAS incorporation of an additional city on the Peninsula, consistent wit the concepts set forth in the current Rancho Palos Verdes application before Lafco, would provide local control capable of implementing and attaining these goals, NOW, THEREFORE,,BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills, California does hereby endorse and encourage formation of an additional city on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, to bring home rule to the residents of that area, thus to permit the citizens of the Peninsula to determine the future character of their environment. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 9th day of August, 1971.
