3/25/19631 1.3 5 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA March 2.5, 1963 The regular meeting of the City Council.of the City of Rolling Hills was called to order at 7:30 P.M., on Monday, March 25, 1963 in the City Hall by Mayor -pro tem Tourtelot. N Hamilton APPROVAL OF MINUTES On motion of Councilman Amberg, seconded by Councilman Van Note and unanimously carried, the minutes of the meeting held February 25, 1963 and March 11, 1963 were approved as written. CORRESPONDENCE The City Clerk read the following: a) Letter from Los Angeles County Boundary Commission giving notice of proppsed annexation "Torrance Annexation Henry No. 1" to the City of Torrance. b) Letter from City of Irwindale attaching resolution No. 63-15-360, regarding the use of detergents. The foregoing letters were ordered received and filed. c) Letter from Gordon T. Nesvig, Clerk of the Board, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, urging the City to adopt.a resolution in support of Assembly Bill 1958. The City Attorney was instructed to prepare a r:ec, resolution in support -of Assembly Bill 1958. SO D READING AND APOP`(jQN 'OP O9DINANCE NO. 48 Councilman Goodman read the title of proposed Ordinance No. 48 entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Rolling Hills, California Amending Ordinance No.32 entitled �An Ordinance of the City of Rolling Hills, Regulating and Controlling the Design and Improvements of Subdivision and Other Division of Property' and moved the adoption of the Ordinance and that,the reading in full be waived. The motion was seconded by Councilman Van Note and carried by the following vote: March 25, 1963 AYES: Councilmen Amberg, Goodman, Van Note Mayor pro tem Tourtelot NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor O'Flaherty .INTRODUCTION.OF ORDINANCES ADOPTING BUILDING, PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL CODES The matter was ordered tabled until next meeting. REPORT OF PUBLIC DEPARTMENTS The City Clerk submitted the Fire Department Activity Report and the Traffic Accident and Enforcement Summary report for the month of February, 1963. PAYMENT OF CITY BILLS The City Clerk presented the register of bills to be allowed for payment. It was moved by Councilman Goodman that Demands 1335 through 1345 be approved for payment from the General Fund; Demand No. 1346 and 1347 from the Traffic Safety Fund and Demand No. 1348 from the Special Deposits Fund. He stated that investigation revealed that there was a proposal to reduce the handling charge by Pacific Telephone Company in inter -company calls so that independent company rates would .go down correspondingly;�that further investigation was being made and therefore the matter should be held in abeyance. The City Attorney stated that he had receiyed a letter from General Telephone Company stating that they were going to continue the installation of cable along Crest Road on March 27, 1963. - It was moved by Councilman Van Note, seconded by Councilman Goodman, that Mr. Sullivan, member of the Board of Directors, Rolling Hills Community Association, and Mayor O'Flaherty be asked to serve on a committee to meet with the General Telephone Company in regard to their plans for the future and the.possibility of going underground with the cable.
