0299RESOLUTION NO. 299 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA,. DECLARING CERTAIN AREAS IN 1g1E" CITY -'OF. ROLLING DILLS AS DISASTER AREAS WHEREAS, a brush fire occured in the City of Rolling Hills, California on dune 225, 1973, and as a result of said fire ten residen- tial buildings were completely destroyed and one residential building was partially destroyed; five barns were completely destroyed and other structures were partially destroyed or damaged; and that all of said residences, barns and structures were located in said City in the -areas commonly known and designated as the "Flying Triangle" and "Southfield"'and WHEREAS, as a result of said fire, all of the natural ground cover, trees and other plant life was destroyed or damaged and great amounts of burned debris, and exposed swimming pools, and other excava- tions exist in said areas, all of which cause a direct hazard to the life and property of all of the residents of the City of Rolling Hills; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills, by Resolution No. 297 did on June 25, 1973, declare and proclaim that a local emergency exists in accordance with Section 8558 of the Government Code of the State of California; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills that the Mayor be authorized and directed to declare all of those certain areas in the City of Rolling Hills designated as' the "Flying Triangle" and "Southfield", as disaster areas; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be forwarded to the governor of the State of California urging the Governor to declare the above described areas in the City of Rolling Hills as disaster areas, and that copies of this Resolution be forwarded by the City Clerk to Senator Stevens and to Assemblyman Beverly for appropriate action on their part.
