0325S3 RESOLUTION NO. 325 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS REGARDING THE PROVISION OF ADEQUATE PUBLIC ---TRANS- PORTATION SERVICES, WHEREAS-, the City of Rolling Hills, along with other cities nd the County of Los Angeles, regard the provision of adequate public transportation services as one of the major problems confronting our region; and WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills along with other cities is working to plan. for such transit and to raise the local share of funds to finance it; and WHEREAS, HR 12859 as amended and passed by the United States House of Representatives -provides a satisfactory formula for allocation of funds to the Los Angeles area and provides funding fora six-year period; and UgiEREAS, S386 is limited to funding for only two years, making planning difficult, if not impossible; and WHEREAS, both bills are now before the United States Senate for consideration NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills endorse the passage of HR 12859 as more in keeping with ur needs. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to Congressmen Alphonzo Bell, Glenn M. Anderson, -Charles Ha Wilson, James Co Corman, and Do Mo Clawson of California; to Congressman John A. Blatnick, Chairman of the House Public Works Committee; to California Senators Alan Cranston and John Vo Tunney; and to Senator Warren Magnuson, Chairman, of the Senate Commerce Committee and Senator Vance Hartke, Chairman of the Senate Sub -Committee on Surface Transportation; together with a covering letter expressing our concern that this_ legislation be passed before the present Congress adjourns.
