0326RESOLUTION NO. 326 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS SUPPORTING AND ENDORSING PROPOSITION "A" (TRANSIT FINANCING ON -TA NOVEMBER 1974 BALLOT) WHEREAS, a major problem of the City of Rolling Hills and other South Bay communities is public transportation, and O WHEREAS, the key to making balanced transportation a reality in Los Angeles County is the passage of Proposition A, a one -cent sales tax measure which will appear on the November ballot, and WHEREAS, Proposition A will produce approximately two hundred million dollars each year in revenue for the benefit of improved transit systems, and WHEREAS, improved transit systems would benefit over one million Los Angeles County citizens (17% of the total population) including senior citizens, young people, the handicapped and many lower income citizens who must rely solely on public transportation because they do not have access to automobiles, and WHEREAS, improved rapid transit systems will reduce traffic congestion and increase the availability of gasoline at more reason- able prices, and WHEREAS., improved rapid transit systems will aid in the revitalization of urban centers in every community, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills supports and endorses Proposition A (Transit Financing on the'Nov,embeir, 1974 ballot). Be it further resolved that the City Clerk of the City of Rolling Hills be directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Committee for -Yes on Proposition A.
