RESOLUTION NO, 331
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING
HILLS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF FLAME -X
TREATED SHAKES FOR REROOFING EXISTING RESIDENCES AND
RESIDENCE ADDITIONS
WHEREAS, the Building Code of the City of Rolling Hills
provides that all roof coverings for all buildings in the City of
Rolling Hills shall be fire -retardant; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City of Rolling Hills
that Flame -X treated shakes installed over a solid wood sheeting or
other weather -proofed solid sheeting has been established to be fire -
retardant;
:NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Rolling Hills that it approves the installation of Flame -X treated
shakes installed as required by the Building Code of the City of
Rolling Hills over solid wood sheeting or other weather -proofed
solid sheeting with a.minimum thickness of three-eighths inch (3/8")
or of a greater thickness, if required by the City Building Official.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the above material is deemed the
equivalent of fire -retardant roof covering for re -roofing existing
buildings or additions to existing buildings only, and not for new
buildings being constructed. r
