0357RESOLUTION NO.'357 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS OPPOSING THE ENACTMENT OF SENATE BILL 1500 WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills is a general law city having a population of approximately 2500 residents with no commercial or business enterprises located within its boundaries; and WHEREAS, its only source of revenue is derived from ad valorem taxes levied on residential property and from fines and forfeitures paid to it pursuant to Section 1463 of the Penal Code of the State of California; and V V 1 J WHEREAS, the revenue so received by the City of Rolling Hills from fines and forfeitures is in excess of $9,000 annually; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, of the City of Rolling Hills that it is opposed to the enactment into law of Senate Bill 1500 for the reason that such legislation will have a detrimental effect on the City's law enforcement capabilities and will deprive it of revenue which is vitally needed to carry out its govern- mental functions. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be for— warded to the Governor of the State of California, to Assemblyman Robert Beverly and to Senator Robert Stevens.
