A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ROLLING HILLS
HONORING DOROTHY LE CONTE
WHEREAS„ Dorothy Le Conte was elected to the City Council
of the City of Rolling Hills on March 5, 1974 and served as a member
thereof until December 15, 1975, and was the first woman on the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Le Conte served Rolling Hills as Board
Member and President of the Women's Community Club of Rolling Hills,
during the time when the club landscaped the gates and public areas
of the City; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Le Conte, as Co -Chairman of Save Our
Coastline, worked with tireless devotion to inform and rally support
t`- from the Peninsula community residents to restrain urban development
on the Peninsula; and
WHEREAS, her leadership of Save Our Coastline resulted in
the vote for and the successful incorporation of the City of Rancho
V Palos Verdes; and
WHEREAS, she has continued to give unselfishly of her
personal time by serving Los Angeles County on the County Rehabili-
tation Hearing Board and the County Beach Advisory Committee, and to
serve her community as a member of the Board of Trustees of Marymount
Palos Verdes College; and
WHEREAS, she has brought to each of her jobs a high degree
of education and professionalism; and
WHEREAS, she has accomplished all these varied tasks with
ability, graciousness and good humor;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Rolling Hills wishes to express to Dorothy Le Conte their
gratitude for her outstanding contributions to the entire'Palos Verdes
Peninsula Community; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that Dorothy Le Conte has forever
the love and grateful appreciation of all of the residents of Rolling
Hills.

adopted by the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills, California
at a regular meeting "thereof held on the 26th day of April, 1976 by
