A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY.COUNCIL.OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS
AUTHORIZING -.THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
THE. -CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF ONE
HALF OF.ITS SB 821 ALLOCATION FOR BICYCLE ROUTE CONSTRUCTION
IN THE CITY OF,RANCHO'PALOS VERDES.
WHEREAS,.the. State of California enacted SB 821 providing
ands for the development of bicycle routes in the form of two percent
of the funds available under SB 325; and.
WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Governments
has been designated as the regulatory agency for the distribution of
such funds; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Governments
C-- has promulgated guidelines for the filing of such funds and these
guidelines suggest that cooperative efforts between."urisdictions are
�-� tq be encouraged; and

WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills wishes to encourage
the development of bicycle routes wherever practicable; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, in its Bicycle
Routes Master Plan, has established plans to develop bicycle routes
which will help to meet the needs of the citizens of the City of Rolling
Hills as well as the entire .Palos Verdes Peninsula;
NOW THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
ity of Rolling Hills does hereby authorize the City Manager to
Re-signate the City of Rancho Palos Verdes as its lead agency hereby
empowering said City to apply for one half of the City of Rolling Hills'
share of its 1977-78 SB 821 money for the purpose of developing said
trail system in Rancho Palos Verdes.
