RESOLUTION,°OF' THE CITY COUNCILS OF -THE :CITY OF 'ROLLING
HILLS RECOMMENDING::THK APPOINTMENT -OF'.''MAS'ON H.' .ROSE V.
TO. THE ARCHITECTURAL AND ;TRANSPORTATION _BARRIERS
COMPLIANCE BOARD
WHEREAS' Mason.H. Rose V ,is recognized throughout the State
of California;as :a leader of .the a dvoca cy., movement fqr disabled
persons; and
WHEREAS,,. Councilman=Rose has raised -the -awareness of our
City regarding the need for barrier reefacil'ities and caused "our
City Hall and related facilities to be modified to accommodate disabled
persons and
WHEREA&,_Councilman Rose has served the City-of.Rolling.Hills
with distinction as Mayor from March 1975 through March '1976 and as a
City Councilman from March 1974. to present and demonstrated his commit-
ment to public service; and
WHEREAS, Councilman Rose served as the perennial Chairperson
of the National Advisory Committee to the Architectural and Transporta-
tion Barriers Compliance Board and thereby gained knowledge of national
access problems and solutions and rdemonstrated his leadership ability;
THEREFORE, IT IS UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that the City of Rolling
Hills, California recommend to President Jimmy Carter that he appoint
Mason H. Rose V.to-.•serve on•.the Architectural and Transportation
Barriers Compliance "Board and further recommend Mr. Rose be considered
for appointment.as Chairperson of the_Complia a Board.
