REPUBLIC SERVICES SPRING EVENTS Mark Your Calendars for the Spring Cleanup Events: Bulk Items — Wednesday, March 15, 2023 Bulk items, such as furniture, appliances and rolled rugs, will be picked up from your designated collection location. Please place items in an area that is easily visible to our drivers. Set out items the night before collection or by 6 a.m. on the collection day. Document Shredding & Electronic Waste Recycling Saturday, March 25, 2023, 10 am to 1 pm at City Hall Drop off confidential documents for secure shredding and electronic waste, such as computers, televisions, smartphones and similar items, for recycling at City Hall. CITY HALL RECRUITMENT STATUS Recruitments for the Senior Management Analyst opened on March 3, 2023 and will close on March 28th. The City will review applications and recommend candidates for interviews by an external panel in mid-April 2023. PLANNING PORTALS The City has been ramping up its online services to provide the public with remote access. Residents may now submit development applications online and upload plans and documents. Over-The-Counter and Administrative Applications can be processed fairly quickly to allow residents to move forward on smaller projects such as reroofs, interior remodels, and small additions. Discretionary Applications will require Planning Commission and City Council review. Archived planning documents are available under “Planning Project Reports Archive.” The system, powered by Laserfiche, allows you to search for Planning documents by address. Archived records such as staff reports, resolutions, and correspondences are available. However, sensitive documents such as house plans are not. The Governor’s Executive Order and Stage 2 of Cal Water’s Water Shortage Contingency Plan remain in effect, as the State and water suppliers cautiously monitor snowpack and water supply levels through the rest of the season. The application, as updated in November 2022, requests authority to increase revenues for 2024-2027. SoCalGas is requesting to increase revenues by $738 million (20.2% increase over 2023 expected revenues) in 2024. This application also includes requested increases of $295 million (6.7%) in 2025, $261 million (5.6%) in 2026, and $379 million (7.7%) in 2027. The cumulative requested revenue increase is $4,740 million. Your participation, by providing your thoughts on SoCalGas’ request can help the CPUC make an informed decision.
