2023-08-15_Spcl_Newsletter_BCEvent JOIN THE BLOCK CAPTAIN PROGRAM FOR A COMMUNITY SOCIAL & EDUCATIONAL EVENT ON AUGUST 27TH A 2019 community survey expressed concerns for city notifications and communication with residents in the event of emergencies. In response, the City Council prioritized communications with residents as a part of the city’s 2020 and 2022 strategic goals and priorities. In 2021, the City Council commissioned an Emergency Information System (EIS) – a database of resident information - to be built for Rolling Hills. The EIS is accessible on the city’s website at: https://www.rolling-hills.org/residents/portal/index.php. To register, please use the drop-down menu and find your address. The data collected via EIS will be imported to the city’s systems of notification. Presently, the city has two systems for notification: E-NOTIFY SOUTH BAY ALERT What: City Alerts & General news or Council/Commission Agenda Information What: Regional Alert and Warning Notification System Why: To stay up-to -date on city info Why: For Emergency Alerts https://www.rolling- hills.org/enotify/index.php https://alertsouthbay.com/register Notification platforms are only effective when registration is robust and contains the most current contact information. With the help of the Block Captains, resident data will be continuously updated in the EIS so that the two notification platforms will always have the latest and greatest resident information. Register yourself and your family members today! Residents can also call City Hall at 310 377-1521 or come in- person for staff assistance with registration. Any questions regarding the EIS, contact Christian Horvath or Katie Watts at chorvath@cityofrh.net and kwatts@cityofrh.net or call 310-377 -1521.
