RESOLUTION NO. 438
A RESOLUTION OF THE'CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER.TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES FOR EXPENDITURE OF ITS ROBERTI-Z'BERG-
URBAN OPEN -SPACE AND RECREATION PROGRAM (SB 174)
ALLOCATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF POINT VICENTE PARK.
WHEREAS, the State of California is to distribute grant
funds made available to cities and districts pursuant to the Roberti-
ZBerg Urban Open -Space and Recreation Program (SB174); and
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, as an agency.
which is developing park sites on the peninsula, is to receive a
block grant for an ongoing project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills desires to share its
SB174 grant allocation with the City of Rancho Palos Verdes for
said project; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Grants and Local Assistance,
Department of Parks and Recreation, State of California, has
advised that such sharing is permissible implementation of the
legislation;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED that
1. The City of Rolling Hills does hereby authorize the
City Pdanager to allocate its SB174 block Brant funds
to the Citv of Rancho Palos Verdes for the exnr.ess
purpose of construction.of_Point Vicente Park; and
2.. The City of Rancho Palos.Verdes agrees to serve as
the applicant for processing'of the appropriate -
block grant application and providing.the required
matching funds pursuant to the Roberti=Z'berg Urban
Open -Space and Recreation Program.
3. The City of.Rancho Palos Verdes agrees to indemnify
and hold the City of Rolling Hills and its Council,
Board, Officers, Legal Counsel and Employees harm-
less against any claims, causes of .action, expenses,
repayment of grant funds, losses, or other liability
by reason of the failure of the City of Rancho Palos
Verdes to comply with the grant contract pursuant to
which said grant funds were received or the failure
to carry out the Project in compliance with such
Contract or the statute and rules and regulations
pertaining thereto, or to meet all federal,,state
or local environmental, public health, relocation,. -
or -affirmative action, and clearing house require
ments and all other appropriate codes, laws and
regulations prior to expenditure of the grant funds.
