0452RESOLUTION NO. 452 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ROLLING HILLS RE: REFUSE DISPOSAL OPERATIONS AT MISSION CANYON LANDFILL WHEREAS, the proposer disposal of solid waste in Los Angeles County is a matter of serious concern to this City; and WHEREAS, the project identified in the Environmental Impact Report recently completed by County Sanitation District No. 2 of Los Angeles County reflects a balancing of the mitigated local impacts of the proposed project with the regional need for a solid waste disposal facility in the area of the proposed Mission Canyon site; and WHEREAS, said Environmental Impact Report provides mitiga ", tion measures which will protect the residential environment of the surrounding communities; and WHEREAS, the failure to resume landfill operations in main Mission Canyon will necessitate transport of waste from the City of Los Angeles to distant landfills causing significant increases in fuel consumption, vehicle travel and air pollution and will result in substantial increases in cost all of which will affect the metropolitan Los Angeles region .as a whole; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of Rolling Hills does respectfully request that the Planning Commission of the City of Los Angeles approve the resumption of landfill activities in main Mission Canyon in accordance with the procedures specified in the District's Environmental Impact Report. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 8th day of September, 1980.
