A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 464 AND
INITIATING PROCEDURES FOR THE FORMATION OF KLONDIKE
CANYON LANDSLIDE ABATEMENT DISTRICT
The City Council of the City.of Rolling Hills hereby
resolves:
Section 1. On'March 23, 1981 the City Council of the•City
of Rolling Hills adopted Resolution No. 464 entitled "A RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS INITIATING PROCEDURES
FOR THE FVRM TION OF THE KLONDIKE CANYON LANDSLIDE ABATEMENT DISTRICT"
and fixed May ll, 1981 as the date for the holding of a public hearing
for the prupose of hearing objections to the formation of.such District; -
as required by Division 17 of the Public Resources Code commencing with
Section 26,500.
Section 2. The City Council is now of the opinion that
additional information should be made available for review by the
residents of the City..of Rolling Hills prior to May 11, 1981, the
.day fixed in Resolution No.'464 as the date of hearing, and that
such information will not be available for public review by the
.� residents prior to May 11, 1981.

Section 3. The City Council is of the opinion that the
best interests of the residents of the:City of Rolling Hills"r.equire
that Resolution No. 464 be rescinded and a new Resolution be agopted
initiating proceedings for the formation of the Klondike Canyon
Landslide Abatement District, as provided by the provisions of
Division 17, commencing with Section 26,500 of the. -Public Resources
Code of the State of California.
Section 4. The City Council of the City of Rolling hills
hereby elects to proceed. under and pursuant to the provisions of
Division 17 (commencing with Section 26,500) of the Public Resources
Code 'of the State of 'California.
Se'ction*5.'The City Council has been presented with and
has received a plan of control for the prevention and mitigation,
abatement or control of the geological hazard and has determined that
the public health, safety and welfare require formation of the Klondike
Canyon Landslide Abatement District.
Section 6. A public hearing shall be held on such formation
on June 15, 1981 at 7:30 P.M. at La Cresta School, 38 Crest Road Nest.
Rolling Hills, California. 'Objections to the formation of such Dis-
trict shall be in the form described by Section 26,564 of the Public
Resources Code of the State of California.
Section 7. A notice of the hearing shall be prepared and
distributed pursuant to the provisions of Sections 26,561 - 26,563
inclusive of the Public Resources Code. The District boundaries
shall be those of the City of Rolling Hills.
