0492RESOLUTION NO. 492 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS AMENDING SCHEDULE "A" OF THE RESIDENTIAL REFUSE FRANCHISE AGREEMENT RELATING TO A RATE ADJUSTMENT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS HEREBY FINDS, RESOLVES AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council does hereby find and determine that a residential refuse franchise agreement was entered into between the City and Removal, Inc. on July 31, 1980 and amended by -Resolution No. 475 on September 14, 1981, providing to Removal the exclusive right and obligation to collect rubbish, garbage and other debris from the residences in the City and providing that City shall pay for said services in accordance with a fee schedule attached to the agreement as Exhibit "A". Section 2. The Council'further finds and determines that. Paragraph XVI -T of the franchise agreement permits Removal each year to request a rate increase to become effective on the first day of July and to continue in effect until June 30 of the following year. Said request must contain evidence demonstrating an increase in the various costs to which Removal's operations are subject. Section 3. On June 22, 1982 Removal submitted its request, for a rate increase effective July 1, 1982.through June 30,.1983. In its request Removal presented the increases in costs to which its operations will be subject for July 1, 1982 through June 30, 1983, and demonstrated by calculated figures the basis of the increase. Section 4. The City Council has reviewed and considered Removal's request and finds it to be in compliance with the req"uir.e- ments of Paragraph XVII of the franchise agreement. The Council concurs with the request of'Removal for a rate increase based on the evidence submitted in its request and hereby orders that.Schedule A " of the franchise agreement be amended to read as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.' Section 5. The City Clerk shall amend Schedule A of the franchise agreement in accordance with the foregoing amendment and is hereby directed to mail a copy of same°to Removal, Inc. A. DU14PING FEES : 1. It's now official that the Sanitation District is raising their rates one ($1.00) dollar per ton, effective July 1, 1982. 2. The B.K.K. Transfer Station in t:ilmington will also raise their -rates one ($1.00) dollar per ton: 3. This will add one hundred, seventy-six ($176.00) dollars per .month to our cost. E. MILEAGE AND VEHICLE FUEL COST 1. Diesel -fuel prices are still down; .045 cents per gallon over . last year. 2. Gas prices are down; .11 cents per gallon. 3. LABOR I As you know, we are non-union, and our contract with all' employees is from July to July each year.. As of this date, we have not started negotiations, and it is our understanding that the union will not be getting large raises, and therefore we are going to. -hold the line. E. ALL OTHER 1. Our contract calls for an eleven (11%) percent increase on all other. l1other. However, I don't feel that this is right, as our inflation has gone up only seven and one half (7 112%) percent over May,, 1981. F. TOTALS a. Dumping $176.00 b. Fuel 37.69 c. Insurance 0 d. Labor 0 e.
