052345 ®V RESOLUTION NO. 523 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS IN SUPPORT OF ASSEMBLY BILL 2227 (FELANDO) 14HICH EXEMPTS PUBLIC LIBRARIES FROM SALES AND USE TAX ON THE RENT OR LEASE OF VIDEO CASSETTES, VIDEOTAPES OR VIDEODISCS AND ALSO EXEMPTS PUBLIC LIBRARIES FROM STATE AND LOCAL TAXES ON ANY SALES OF PHOTOCOPIES SOLD THROUGH A COIN-OPERATED MACHINE The City Council of the City of Rolling Hills resolves as follows: Section 1. The residents of the City of Rolling Hills receive public library service from the Palos Verdes Library District through property tax assessment. Section 2. The Palos Verdes Library District is seeking legislative relief from a requirement to charge Sales and Use tax on videocassette rentals and photocopies which cost more than, fifteen cents. �. Section 3. The Honorable Gerald N. Felando, Assemblyman, i`. 51st District, representing the City of Rolling Hills, has introduced legislation exempting public libraries from said Sales and Use tax in V the provision of Assembly Bill 2227. Section 4. The City Council of the City of Rolling Hills does endorse and support the passage of Assembly Bill 2227, and directs that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to State of California Assemblyman Gerald N. Felando and State Senator Robert. Beverly.
