RESOLUTION NO. 550
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROLLING HILLS ADOPTING THE 1985
EDITION OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, the City adopted the Standard Specifications for
Public Works Construction, 1982 Edition on October 11, 1982 by
Resolution No. 500; and
WHEREAS, members of the Southern California Chapters of the
American Public Works Association and the Associated General
Contractors of California, working as a Joint Cooperative Committee,
have prepared the 1985 Edition of the Standard Specifications for
Public Works Construction and the 1985 Edition (First Edition) of
the Standard Plans for Public Works Construction; and
WHEREAS, a uniformity of standards will serve to minimize
c6nflict and confusion in public works construction and will tend
to lower construction costs for future public works projects through
competitive bidding by private contractors; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer was represented on the Committee
which prepared the 1985 Edition and recommends its adoption,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills
resolves that:
1. The 1985 Edition of the Standard Specifications for Public
Works Construction, Parts One through Three, and the 1985 Edition
(First Edition) of the Standard Plans for Public Works Construction
prepared by the APWA-AGC Joint Cooperative Committee is adopted.
2. The City Clerk is directed to forward a certified copy
of this Resolution to the County's Director of Public Works as
the City's City Engineer.
