RESOLUTION NO. 552
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS TO JOIN THE COACHELLA VALLEY
JOINT POWERS INSURANCE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Coachella Valley Association of
Governments has established the Coachella Valley Joint Powers
Insurance Authority hereafter called the C.V.J.P.I.A.; and
WHEREAS, said Authority currently offers participation
in a workers compensation insurance program and is also
developing a liability insurance program which may be of benefit
to the City of Rolling Hills; and
WHEREAS, THE CVAG Executive Committee has authorized
the participation of NON CVAG agencies in the C.V.J.P.I.A. based
on certain terms and conditions; and
WHEREAS, the CVAG Executive Committee has authorized
the participation of the City of Rolling Hills in the
C.V.J.P.I.A., contingent upon final approval of the membership
request by the C.V.J.P.I.A.'s Board of Directors and compliance
with the specified terms and conditions; and
WHEREAS, all NON CVAG agencies such as the City of
Rolling Hills who are granted membership in the C.V.J.P.I.A.
are assessed $1,000 per year in lieu of dues payable to the
Coachella Valley Association of Governments; and
WHEREAS, all NON CVAG agencies are also assessed
one time buy in fees of $1,000 for general membership in the
C.V.J.P.I.A. and $1,000 for each insurance program they may
choose to participate in; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills has been fully
advised of the required dues and buy in fees for membership
in the C.V.J.P.I.A. and hereby agrees to abide by these terms
following the final approval of their membership request by
the C.V.J.P.I.A.'s Board of Diectors;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Rolling
Hills does hereby formally request membership in the C.V.J.P.I.A.
and that the Mayor or his designated representative be authorized
to execute the appropriate legal documents, including the Joint
Powers Agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, the City of Rolling
Hills does hereby authorize the payment of the following in
lieu dues and one time fees following final approval by the
C.V.J.P.I.A. of the aforementioned membership request:
1. $1,000 per year in lieu of dues payable to the
Coachella Valley Association of Governments.
2. A one time buy in fee of $1,000 payable to the
Coachella Valley Joint Powers Insurance
Authority for general membership.
3. A one time buy in fee of $1,000 for each
insurance program the City participates in.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED is
August, 1986.
