0608RESOLUTION NO. 608 1.31 RESOLUTION TO BE SUBJECT TO PUBLIC EMPLOYEE'S MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL CARE ACT and FIXING THE EMPLOYER'S CONTRIBUTION AT AN AMOUNT NOT GREATER THAN THAT PRESCRIBED BY SECTION 22825 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE WHEREAS, Government Code Section 22850 provides the benefits of the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act to employees of local agencies contracting with the Public Employee's Retirement System on proper application by a local agency; and WHEREAS, Section 22825.6 of the Act provides that a local contracting agency shall fix the amount of the employer's contribution; and WHEREAS, The City of Rolling Hills, hereinafter referred to as 00 Public Agency, is a local agency contracting with the Public Employee's Retirement System; and N WHEREAS, The Public Agency desires to obtain for its employees W and annuitants the benefit of the Act and to accept the m liabilities and obligations of an employer under the Q Act and Regulations; and WHEREAS, The Public Agency desires to amend the employer's share of the contribution for each active employee and retired employee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Public Agency elect, and it does hereby elect, to be subject to the provisions of the Act; and, RESOLVED, That the employer's contribution for each active employee, shall be the amount necessary to pay the full cost of his/her enrollment, in a health benefits plan or plans; and further, that the employer's contributions for each retired employee or survivor shall be that amount necessay to pay ten percent (10%) of the amount paid'by the employer for the cost of an active employee's enrollment; and, RESOLVED, That the executive body appoint and direct, and it does hereby appoint and direct, the City Clerk to file with the Board of Administration of the Public Employee's Retirement System a verified copy of this Resolution, and to perform on behalf of said Public Agency all functions required of it under the Act and Regulations of the Board of Administration; and be it further RESOLVED, That Resolution No. 607 is hereby rescinded; and, RESOLVED, That the coverage under the Act be effective on June 1, 1990.
