A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING
HILLS SUPPORTING SENATE BILL NO. 169 INTRODUCED BY
SENATOR DANIEL E. BOATWRIGHT WHICH REPEALS PROPERTY TAX
REDUCTIONS FOR NO AND LOW PROPERTY TAX CITIES.
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills is a Low Property Tax City;
and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 2557 adopted last year by the State
Legislature reduces property tax revenues for "No and Low Property
Tax Cities"; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 2557 also authorizes Counties to
establish booking fees for Cities utilizing their law enforcement
services and provides for a property tax collection administrative
charge; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 169 introduced by Senator Daniel E.
Boatwright repeals the property tax administrative charge, the
County authorized booking fee and property tax reductions for "No
and Low Property Tax Cities"; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 169 is sponsored by the League of
California Cities and provides revenues to offset Counties losses
from replenishment of the property tax transfer to "No and Low
Property Tax Cities".
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City
of Rolling Hills as follows:
SECTION 1. Members of the Rolling Hills City Council hereby
support Senate Bill No. 169 introduced by Senator Daniel E.
Boatwright.
SECTION 1. The City Clerk or duly appointed Deputy shall
transmit copies of this Resolution to Senator Daniel E. Boatwright,
Senator Robert Beverly, Assemblyman Gerald N. Felando, the League
of California Cities and the California Contract Cities
Association.
SECTION 3. The Mayor, or presiding officer, is directed to
affix his signature to this Resolution signifying its adoption and
the City Clerk or duly appointed deputy is directed to attest
thereto.
