0642J RESOLUTION NO. 642 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 2111, ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 2112 AND ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 2113 WHICH ENCOURAGE THE MARKETING, FUNDING, AND USE OF DESALINATION FACILITIES IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, the State of California is experiencing extreme drought conditions; and WHEREAS, mandatory and voluntary water conservation efforts have been imposed throughout the State of California; and WHEREAS, desalination represents a potential means to harness a massive supply of usable water which can offset the impact of the existing drought situation; and WHEREAS, Assemblyman Richard Polanco, 55th District, State of California, has introduced Assembly Bill No. 2111, Assembly Bill No. 2112 and Assembly Bill No. 2113 to encourage the marketing, funding and use of desalination facilities in the State of California. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills, California, does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Members of the Rolling Hills City Council hereby support Assembly Bill No. 2111, Assembly Bill No. 2112 and Assembly Bill No. 2113 introduced by Assemblyman Richard Polanco. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby directed to sign this Resolution, and the City Clerk, or duly authorized Deputy is directed to attest thereto. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall forward certified copies of this Resolution to the League of California Cities, California Contract Cities Association, Assemblyman Richard Polanco, Senator Robert Beverly and Assemblyman Gerald Felando.
