0687RESOLUTION NO. 687 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR "ELIGIBILITY STATUS" IN THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES' FEDERAL SURPLUS PERSONAL PROPERTY PROGRAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING DISASTER PREPAREDNESS SUPPLIES. WHEREAS, in the event of disaster or extreme peril (fire, flood, storm, epidemic, riot, earthquake, drought, energy failure or other cause) the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Office of Emergency Services (OES) of the State of California recommend that cities should maintain a level of self sufficiency for up to 72 hours; and WHEREAS, the Department of General Services' Office of Procurement allows for agencies and organizations to participate in the Federal Surplus Property Program; and WHEREAS, the Federal Surplus Property program allows eligible agencies and organizations to purchase surplus property for specified needs and disaster preparation. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the City Clerk is directed to forward to the California Department of General Services Office of Surplus Property a certified copy of this Resolution. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the book of original Resolutions. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of July, 1992.
