A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF
REVENUE GENERATED BY THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD
PARKS, BEACHES AND RECREATION PROPOSITION OF 1992
TO THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS ESTATES FOR THE
REPLACEMENT OF A PLAY STRUCTURE IN ROCKBLUFF
PARK AND AN INTERPRETIVE/INTERACTIVE AREA IN
GEORGE F CANYON.
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County enacted the Safe Neighborhood Parks
Proposition of 1992 which provides funds to incorporated cities of Los Angeles County for
developing facilities for public recreation; and
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District has
been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the County
and to set up necessary procedures governing applications by local agencies under the
program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills is unable to utilize said Proposition A
funds under the guidelines of the Proposition; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills Estates has parks and recreation facilities
which benefit the residents of the surrounding area including the City of Rolling Hills; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills Estates has communicated that it is
willing to accept the funds allocated to the City of Rolling Hills and use them for an
interactive play area in George F Canyon and the replacement of a play structure in
Rockbluff Park which will benefit the residents of all surrounding communities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROLLING HILLS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the transfer of grant funds to the
City of Rolling Hills Estates for improvement to George F Canyon and Rockbluff Park as
stipulated.
Section 2. The City of Rolling Hills Estates will be the applicant for the
funds and will be responsible for administering the grant funds under the conditions set
forth by the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of May, 1996.
