RESOLUTION NO. 806
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
METRICOM, INC. AND THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS FOR
THE INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF
WIRELESS DIGITAL COMMUNICATION RADIOS WITHIN
THE LIMITS OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, members of the City Council have been presented with an
agreement from Metricom, Inc. to install, operate and maintain wireless digital
communication radios systems within the City of Rolling Hills at no cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, members of the City Council considered this proposal and other
supplemental information that was provided by Metricom representatives; and
WHEREAS, a hearing was held to address issues regarding this proposed
service which was noticed in the City of Rolling Hills Citywide Newsletter; and
WHEREAS, this agreement shall expire within one year of date of adoption if
Metricom, Inc. fails to install the radio devices in the City and advertise to local residents
the availability of this service, and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills will reserve the right to have these
wireless digital communication radio devices removed under certain conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, members of the Rolling Hills City Council hereby
resolve as follows:
Section 1. Members of the City Council hereby adopt the attached
agreement between the City of Rolling Hills and Metricom, Inc. for the installation,
operation and maintenance of wireless digital communication radios within the limits of
the City.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute this agreement on
behalf of the City and the City Clerk shall attest thereto.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED, this 14th day of April, 1997.
