RESOLUTION NO. 886
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF REVENUE
GENERATED BY THE COUNTY REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN
SPACE 1996 PROPOSITION "A" PER PARCEL DISCRETIONARY
FUNDS TO THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES FOR THE
EXPANSION OF THE PT. VINCENTE INTERPRETIVE CENTER.
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County enacted the Safe Neighborhood Parks
Proposition of 1996 which provides funds to incorporated cities of Los Angeles County for
developing facilities for public recreation; and
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the County and to
set up necessary procedures governing applications by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills is unable to utilize said Proposition A funds
under the guidelines of the Proposition; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes has parks and recreation facilities
which benefit the residents of the surrounding area including the City of Rolling Hills; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes has communicated that it is willing
to accept the funds allocated to the City of Rolling Hills and use them for the expansion of the
Pt. Vincente Interpretive Center which will benefit the residents of all surrounding
communities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROLLING HILLS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the transfer of the City of Rolling Hills'
allocation of the County Regional Park and Open Space 1996 Proposition "A" Per Parcel
Discretionary Funds to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes in the amount of $11,829 for
improvement to Pt. Vincente Interpretive Center as stipulated.
Section 2. The City of Rancho Palos Verdes will be the applicant for the funds
and will be responsible for administering the grant funds under the conditions set forth by the
Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District.
