RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING
HILLS AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2006-2007, FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008, FISCAL YEAR 2008-
2009 A COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS AND THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION FOR THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has entered into a contract with the United States of
America, through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to execute the
County's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program under the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, hereinafter called the "Act;"
WHEREAS, all cities that intend to be part of the Urban County's July 1, 2006 through June
30, 2009 Program are required to execute a Cooperation Agreement with the County; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 53703 authorizes the County of Los
Angeles and the City of Rolling Hills to enter into this Contract in furtherance of the Program;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills desires to participate in said Program for the 3 -year
funding cycle beginning on July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2009.
WHEREAS, the participation in the CDBG Program allows the City to control .its own
allocation of CDBG funds provided that the program selection meet CDBG regulations regarding
elimination of slum and blight and addressing the needs of low and moderate -income
households.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills,
California, hereby authorizes entering into a Cooperation Agreement with the County of Los
Angeles Community Development Commission for participation in the Community Development
Block Grant Program for a 3 year period from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2009.
