RESOLUTION NO. 1083
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS APPROVING AN EXCLUSIVE SOLID WASTE
FRANCHISE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND ALLIED
WASTE INDUSTRIES, INC.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS DOES HEREBY FIND, ORDER
AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Findings.
A. Section 8.08.030 of the Rolling Hills Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to
award a franchise for solid waste handling services.
B. Chapter 8.08 sets forth certain terms that must be included in any exclusive solid waste
franchise awarded by the City Council.
C. The solid waste franchise agreements between Allied Waste Industries, Inca and the City
of Rolling Hills dated April 26, 2010 meets the requirements of the Municipal Code.
D. Allied Waste Industries, Inc. represents and warrants that it is qualified to provide the
services required by the franchise agreement.
E. - The approval of the solid waste franchise agreements is exempt from CEQA pursuant to
CEQA Guidelines sections 15308 and 15061(b)(3).
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement for Residential Solid Waste
Management Services Between the City of Rolling Hills and Allied Waste Industries, Inc. dated April
26, 2010.
Section 3. The rate schedule set forth in the franchise agreement is consistent with City Council
Resolution No. 1051.
Section 4. The City Clerk is directed to certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and
enter it into the book of original resolutions.
