RESOLUTION NO. 1112
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS APPROPRIATING CITIZEN'S OPTION FOR
PUBLIC SAFETY (COPS) FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2011-12.
WHEREAS, the Rolling Hills City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2011-12 City of Rolling
Hills Budget on May 23, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills adopted budget did not include Citizen's Option For
Public Safety (COPS) funds for supplemental- public safety field -services provided by the Sheriff's
Department because as of the City's adoption of its budget the State of California budget had not been
adopted with COPS funds allocated to cities; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has since adopted the 2011-12 fiscal year State budget with
SB89 directing $100,000 in COPS funds to the City of Rolling Hills; and
WHEREAS, the Rolling Hills City Council desires to appropriate and utilize the COPS funds in
accordance with State requirements in its 2011-12 fiscal year budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ROLLING HILLS CITY COUNCIL AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Appropriations in the amount not to exceed $100,000 in Citizen's Option for
Public Safety (COPS) funds in COPS Fund, Line Item 840, is authorized for the statutory purposes
authorized by the State of California for public safety.
Section 2. The City Manager may allocate the appropriation for traffic enforcement and the
Community Resource Deputies (CORE) program within the adopted Fiscal Year 2011-12 budget in
order to ensure that expenditures correspond to the intent of the City Council and comply with COPS
requirements.
Section 3. The Mayor is hereby directed to sign this Resolution and the City Clerk or duly
authorized Deputy, is directed to attest thereto.
