July 11, 1966
A regular meeting of the City Council' of the City of
Rolling Hills was called to order by Mayor fay at 7:30 P..M. on Mon-
day, July 11, 1966 at the City Office.

Present: Councilmen Nadal, Tourtelot and Mayor Fay
Absent: Councilmen Hesse and Klein

;APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Councilman Tourtelot, seconded by Council -
:,man Nadal and unanimously carried that the'minutes of June 27, 1966
be approved as submitted.
.CORRESPONDENCE
a) Letter dated June 15, 1966 from Howard Gardner,
Associate Director, League of California Cities, relating to the
Annual Conference in San Diego, October 16-19, 1966. -Councilman
,Tourtelot moved that the Mayor and any Councilman, along with the
City'Manager and City Attorney, attend the conference. The motion
was seconded by Councilman Nadal.
REPORTS OF CITY DEPARTMENTS
Sheriff's Department
The Manager presented a report from the Sheriff's Depart-
ment for the Month of May 1966. The report was ordered received and
filed.
_Los Angeles County Assessor
The Manager presented a report from the Assessor's Office
giving the estimated assessed value totals of the 1966 Tax Roll,
Before.Equalization for the City of Rolling Hills, exclusive of public
utility value's. The figure for the net tangible assessed value was
$13,662,740..00. After discussion the report was -ordered received and
filed.
PAYMENT__ OF BILLS
It was moved/by Councilman.Nadal that Demands No. 2310
through 2332 be approved for payment from the General Fund.

ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
July 11,.1966
Councilman Tourtelot moved that.the subject of.the.Adminis-
tration Building be held over, until an opinion is obtained from Mr.
Kinley, Mr. Pearson,and Mrs. Clifton regarding thespecifications
submitted by Mr.. Eberting after a joint meeting is held. Mr.. Nadal
seconded the motion. The Mayor so..ordered.°
EASTFIELD GATE CONDEMNATION
Mr. Kinley stated that he had an indication from the appraiser
that he was having difficulty locating comparable sales of other pro-
. perties in.the area. The Mayor ordered that the matter be held on
the agenda.

Councilman Tourtelot moved that.the commendation be spreadon the
minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nadal and unanimously
carried. .Mayor Fay directed that the resolution be prepared for
presentation to Mrs. Carley, the seals affixed and properly framed.,

RANCHO PALOS VERDES TO RUTH CARLEY
vWHEREAS,'Ruth Carley has served as - Secretary to the City
Council of the City of Rolling 'Hills and the Board of birectors of
Rolling Dills Community Association.of R ancho Palos Verdes from
October,'1964 to June 30, 1966, at which latter time she retired;
and.
WHEREAS, during said period -of employment Ruth Carley.was
at all times more than willing to give without reservation of her
time and effort tq"assure that her duties would be efficiently and
ompetently carried.out to further the business and affairs -of the
ity of Rolling.Hills and the Rolling Hills Community Association;
.and
WHEREAS., during theyterm of heremployment.Ruth'Carley has
been a cheerful and astute worker who at all'times did her utmost'tQ'
aid and assist the 'residents 'of the City of Rolling Hills and the
members of the.Rolling Hills Community Association in their day-to-
day transactions with the City of Rolling Hills and the:-.olling Hills

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Coutis`l.l of
the City of Rolling Hills and the Board.of Directors of the Rolling
Hills Community Association,.for and -on behalf of their residents
and members, do -express their sincere thanks and appreciation to
Ruth Carley for her faithful service and untiring efforts and wish
for her all happiness and success.in.the future,..
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that.'this Resolution -shall be
spread upon the minutes: of -the meetings of the�,Ci.,t_y Council: of the

City of Rolling Hills and the Board of Directors of the Rolling
Hills Community Association, and that the Mayor of said City and
the President of the Board of Directors of said Association shall
execute the same and a suitable copy thereof shall be delivered
forthwith to the said Ruth Carley.
Passed,and approved this llth day of July, 1966, by the
City Council of the City of Rolling Hills and this 20th day of
July, 1966 by the Board of Directors of Rolling Hills Community
Association_of Rancho Palos Verdes.

Mr. Marion Welch, the Treasurer, advised the Council he
had secured from Gateway National Bank a Pledge of Securities
showing that said bank had pledged the following securities:

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the meeting
it was moved by douncilman Tourtelot, seconded by Councilman Nadal
and unanimously rried that the meeting be adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
