Control District .in obtaining the right. of entries fxom _24 property.owners affected by the�. pro�ect. It -was necessary to have the signatures of the owners inv.olved in. at least 3- of the 4: lines before the construction contract cauld be awarded. Srnne of the 24 owners had refused to sign, but the minimum number of signatures . had. finally been: obtained and the Board. of Supervisors will adver- tise the bid on November lst, awarding the contract 3 weeks later. . Council a report o�.. the League of California Cities� Conference, October 17th through Oc�ob�ar. 19th, attended by Mayor Fay and herself. Mrs . Clifton indicated that�;�.she felt it was the .finest meeting the League had ever aponsored. : There were. 6000 representatives from the California cities in at�en.dan�e. Mayor Fay pointed. out that the significant fact stressed was the independence of the cities and the expeditious use of any monies received fram state or federal funds, and' the refusal to allow the expenditure of said funds to be dictated .by the federal or state government.
