Elizabeth Bach League of Women Voters APPROVAL OF MINU`�ES It was moved by Couneilman Tourtelot, seconded by Councilman Nadal and unanimously carried that the minutes of January 9, 1967 be app�°oved as corrected. � CORRESPONDENCE � A letter dated January 6, 1967 was presented to the Council from Mr. F . C. Ripley, J'r. setting forth his concern about the City of Rolling Hills as a military target, because of the proximity of the Radar Station on San Pedro Hill, and re�questing that the community officials demand that t.he radar station be abandoned or moved back to the Ghannel Islands . uncilman Tourtelot stated that in his opinion objections should ,�ave en expressed when the Radar and Nike sites we�°e built, but further, he �lt� that- possibly the City Council should consider registering a �rotest at the present time, over the signature of Mayor Fay. , Mayor .Fay ordered the matter held on the agenda to allow for further studye REPORTS OF CITY DEPARTMENTS Fire Department The Activity Report for the month of December 1966 was presented. It was ordered received and filed. Fines and Forfeitures The City Manager presented the Analysis and Distribution ,of Fines and Forfeitures for the month of December 1966, noting that �he City's share is $278 .23 . The report was ordered received and filed. Sheriff' s Depa�°tment Councilman Tour�elot sta�ed that he wou,ld like someone from e Sheriff's Department to at�end the City Council meetings . Mayor y requested that the City Manager contact both the Sheriff `s Department d the Fi�e Department with regard to having a membe�° f�°om each attend � e next Ci�y Council mee�ing . PROPOSED ORDIIVANCE � WEED ABATEMENT The Manager reported that the Fire Department has been studying the Ordinance, and wi11 be prepared to comment on it at the next City C,ouneil meeting. ADMINISTRATION BUI.LDI.IVG Mayor Fay announced that the target date for completion of the _new Administration Building is the fi�st week in Aprilo Mrs . Cli,fton stated that no problems have been encoun.tered, and the contractor is optimistic that the date can be meto �'he date f or dedication of the building is Sunday, April 23, 1967 . ' January 23, 1967 NEW BUSINESS A letter from the County of Los Angeles , Department of Auditor- Controller, dated January 13, 1.967 , requesting cancellation of erroneous assessment on property located within the City was presented by the City Manager. Two copies of authorization to change the Assessment Roll of � 1966, cancelling erroneous assessment of personal property in the amount of $150.00 to Mr . and Mrs . John P . Grogan were signed by William Kinley, ttorney for the City of Rolling Hills , after motion for approval was de by Councilman Tourtelot, seconded by Councilman Klein and carried by . e following roll call vote: A�YES : Gouncilmen Klein, Nadal, `Tourtelot, Mayor Fay NOES : None ABSENT: Councilman Hesse PERSONNEL SESSION The meeting was adjourned to a personn�l session by Mayor Fay at 8 : 15 P oMo MEETING RECONVENED Following the personnel session, the meeting was reconvened at 10: 15 P .M.
