A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS
LIMITING THE CITY'S CONTRIBUTION T� EMPLOYEE MEDICAL, DENTAL
AND VISION INSURANCE PREMIUM C�STS AND UPDATING THE EMPLOYEE
HANDBOOK AND PERSONNEL POLiCY MANUAL ACCORDINGLY.
WHEREAS, the City maintains personnel policies to govern the City's relations wzth its
emp�oyees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopts Resolutions ame�nding the personnel policies related to
compensation and benefits affecting its employees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to limit the City's coz�tributions for emplayee medical,
dental and medical insurance premiums; and
WHERES, the City Council Personnel Committee, Finance Director and City Manager
recommend thEse changes to the benefits, compensation and ather personnel policies.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING H�LLS DOES
HEREBY FIND, ORDER.AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The employee benefits other personnel policies are amended as follows:
A. Inswrance Premium Cap--a cap limiting the City's contribution to medical
insurance p�remiums up to a maximum manthly family premiiFrn of$1,�42 based on the 2015 rate for the
Anthem Traditional HMO plan. Further�nore, a cap limi#ing the City's contribution to dental insurance
premiums up to a maximum monthly family premium of$202 based on the 2015 ra�e �or the Met Life
DPPO plan. Finally, a cap limiting the City's contribution to vision insurance premiums up to a
maximum monthly family premium of$30 based on the 2015 rate for the VSP plan. These caps will be
effective on 7anuary 1, 2016 and will be reviewed each year by the Personnel Committee to determine if
it wants to recommend to the City Council any char�ges due to mar�et forces in the insurance field or to
stay competitive with similar municipal gavernment benefits concerning employee premium coverage
£or medical, dental and vision ins�rance.
B. Employee Handbaok and Personnel Policy Changes:
1. To include reference that the medical, dental and�ision insurance cap that
the City is irriplementing applies ta all employees in the Employee Handbook.
Section 2. The City Clerk is directed to certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and
enter it into the book of original resolutions.
