A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELE�TION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY,
MARCH 7, 2017, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS AS
REQUIRED BY THE PROVISTONS �F THE LAWS OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GE�TER.AL LAW CI'TiES.
TI� CITY COUNCIL QF THE CITY OF ROLLING HII.LS DOES RESOLVE AS
�� FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General Law Cities in the State
of Califomia, a General Municipal Election shall be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, for the election of
M�xnicipal Officers;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS,
CALIFORNIA DOES RESOLVE,DECLARE,DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws o€ the State of California
relating to General Law Cities, there is called and ordered Yo be held in the City of Rolling Hills,
California, on Tuesday, Maxch 7, 2017, a Genera� Municipal Election for the purpase of electing two (2}
members of the City Council f�r the a term of three years and eight�nonths ending in November 2020.
Section 2. That the ballvts fa be used at the election shall be in farm and content as
required by law.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is authorized, instructed and directed ta coordinate with
the Caunty of Los Angeles Registrar Recorder/County Clerk to procure and fumish any and all official
ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary iz�
order to properly and lawfully conduct the election.
Secdon 4. That the polls for the e�ection shall be open a#seven o'clock a.m. of the day af
the election and shall remain open continuously from that time until eight a'clock p.m. of the same day
__ when the polls shall be closed pursuant to Election Code §10242, except as pro�ided in Section 14401. of
the Elections Code of the State af Califomia.
Section 5. That in aIl particulars not recited in this Resolution, the election shall be held
and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections.
Section 6 That notice of the time and place of holding the electian is given and the City
Clerk is authorized, instructed and directed to gxve further or additional notice of the �lection, in time,
form and manner as required by law.
Section 7. That in the event of a tie vote (if any two or more persons recei�e an equal
and the highest number of�otes for an office) as certified by the Election Official, the City Council, in
accordance with Election Code §15651(b), shall conduct a special r�noff election to resolve the tie vote
and such special runaff election is to be held on a Tuesday nat less t.han 40 days nor more than 125 days
after the administrative or judicial certification of the election which resulted in a tie vote.
Sectian S. That the City Clerk sha11 certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution
and enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
Section 9. The City Council authorizes the City Clerk to administer said election and all
reasonable and actual election expenses shall be paid by the City upon presentation of a properly
suhmitted bill.
