A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON'TUESDAY,NOVEM$ER 7,
2017, FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALTFIED VOT'ERS A
PROPQSED ORDINANCE REPEALING MEASURE B BY
AMENDING SUBSECTION (E) OF SECTION 17.26.050 AND
REPEALTNG SECT'[ON 17.26.090 OF THE ROLZING HILLS
M[1NICIPAL CODE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills, California desires to sub�nit to t�e
voters at a Special Municipal Efection a propos�d ordinance relating to whether the provisions added to
Chapter 17.26 (View Preservation) of the Rolling Hills Municipal Code by Measure B in March 2013
should he repealed;and
WHEREAS, the City Council is auttaorized and directed by statute to submit the groposed
ordinance to the voters;
NOW, THEREFORE, '�'IiE CITY COUNCII. OF Ti� CIT`Y OF ROLLING HILLS,
CALIFORNiA,DOES RESOLVE,DECLARE,DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. 'I'hat pursuant to the requirements of#he laws af the State of California zelating to
generai law cities, there is called and ordered to be held in the City of Rollit�g Hzlls, CaIiforniia, on
Tuesday,Nv�ember 7,2017, a Special Municipal Election for the purpose of submitting the following
question:
YES
"Shall an ordinance be adopted repealing the March
2013 a�nendments made to tlxe City's View
Preservation Ordinance by Measure B?"
NO
Section 2. That the text of the ordina�ce submitted to the voters is attached as Exhibit A.
Section 3. That the bal2ots to be used at the election slaalt be in form and content as required
by law.
Section 4. That the City Clerk is authozized, instructed and directed to c��rdinate witl�the
County of Los Angeles Registrar Recorder/County Clerk to procure and furnish any and all ot�'icial
ballots, notices, printed matter and aIl s�pplies, equ�ipment and paraphexnalia that may be necessary in
order to properly and lawfully conduct the election.
Section 5. That the polls far the electivn shall be open at seven o'clock a.m.of the daq of the
eIection and shall remain open continuously from that time untii eight a'ciock p.m. of the same day
when the polls shall be closed,pnrsuant to�Iection Code§ 10242,except as provided in§ 14401 of the
Elections Code of the 5tate of California.
Sactian 6. That in ali particulars not recited in this resolutian,the election shall be held and
conducted as provided by law�or holding manicipal elections.
Section 7. 'I'hat notice of the time az�d place of holding the election is given and the City
Clerk is authorized, instructad and directed to give further ar additional notice of tl�e election, izi time,
form and manner as required by law.
Section 8. 'I'hat the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and
enter it into the book of original resolutions.
Section 4. The City Gouncil authorizes the City Clerk to administer said election and all
reasonable and actual election expenses shall be paid by the City upon presentation of a properIy
submitted bill.

HILLS MiJNICIPAL CODE
The People of the City of Rolling Hills do ardain as#'ollows:
Section 1. Subsection (E) of Section 17.26.050 of the Rolling Hills Municipal Cvde is hereby
amended by deleting the following sentence therefrorn:
"�uch order is nat intended to create an una8structed view for applfcants. Irtstead id is fntended
ta create view corridors and a view through trees."
Section 2. Section 17.26A90("Preservation of views defined")is hereby repealed in its entirety.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to
be published as required by law.
